Buying a new door can seem rather confusing but it doesn’t have to be. Here at Todd Doors we want to make buying a door as straightforward as possible. Size Does Matter!
Door Buying Tip #1
Our doors are supplied in industry standard sizes OR in most cases we can make them to your exact size, with our Made to Measure or Bespoke service!
The starting point is always to measure the existing door or opening (i.e. the size of the space where the door will go). Our standard-sized doors are supplied with large lippings so can be adjusted on-site, so don’t worry if the size isn’t exact. The majority of our doors can be trimmed down in size on all edges to allow for a proper fit.

How Do You Want It?

Whether you are looking for a space-saving solution such as a pocket door system or want something larger, like a room divider, Todd Doors will have a solution for you.
Our Scrigno pocket door systems are available as single door, double doors and even a fire-rated variant. We offer a bi-folding room divider system where you can hang any of our doors in numerous configurations up to 6m wide. Just need a pair of doors, we can do that too.
We also offer a rebating service where we can pair any of our doors together to make a set of double doors for you.

Style - It's A Choice!

Picking the right style isn’t as complicated as you think, it’s good to consider style as early as possible. We offer a vast range of both traditional and contemporary designs. Don’t feel restricted by the period of your home, traditional styled doors with a contemporary paint finish will suit any property. It’s entirely up to you what kind of doors you’re looking to fit in your home, it’s your choice.
The best tool you have when deciding on the style and finish for your door is your own eyes. If possible, we’d always, always, always recommend coming into one of our seven stunning showrooms to see the styles and finishes for yourself. There’s still no substitute for seeing the actual door right in front of you.
Have You Considered Glazed?

We offer a glazed version of every internal door we sell, in some cases, there is more than one option. We’d always encourage you to go for glass where you can, as it lets much more light flow through your home. It really makes a difference in rooms that you want to flood with light, such as kitchens and living spaces.
All our internal glazed doors are fitted with toughened safety glass as standard.
Construction

We pride ourselves on selling engineered doors made using timber from responsible sources. Our range of doors is offered as Super Heavyweight Solid Core, Heavyweight Semi-Solid Core, Mediumweight Semi-Solid Core or Lightweight Hollow Core. For our veneered doors, we only ever use the finest hand-selected veneers with the nicest grain.
All our doors are constructed using the best materials available. Our confidence in the quality of our doors is attested by our Lifetime Guarantee. Cheap imitations are available, but when you buy from us you’ll be sure of getting the very best quality product available.
Finish
Door Buying Tip #6
Knowing that our doors need to be as individual as you are, we offer a wide range of finishes. Many of our doors are available in different colours and finishes.
Doors are available as either primed, untreated or pre-finished. Primed doors are ideal for painting in any colour you wish. If you want to stain a door then our untreated range is your best bet, however, they also look great painted. Our lacquered pre-finished doors are factory-finished over high-quality hardwood veneers such as oak and walnut. Alternatively, we offer a range of on-trend pre-finished stained and painted doors with smooth or grained faces.
Don’t forget we are able to apply a paint finish to any of our primed or untreated doors in a colour of your choice, at our professional spray facilities.

Safety
Door Buying Tip #7
Safety might not be the first thing you think about when you’re buying a door, but it’s absolutely a crucial factor that you need to consider. We sell a fire door version of pretty much every single door in our range, so you can forget any ideas of bland, ugly commercial premises fire doors. A fire door is typically 44mm thick rather than a normal door, which might be 35mm or 40mm. It will have a fire-resistant core and will have been tested in a lab.

We cannot overstate the choice of the right handle or knob for the right door. It’s entirely possible to pick a perfect style and finish for a door, and then fail to ‘stick the landing’ by plumping for a handle or knob that doesn’t do the door justice. It’s why some of our customers spend longer agonising over the handle or knob than they do over the door.

A range of stained glass windows are available, exclusively in our Edwardian and Victorian range, to revive life for your 18th and 19th-century style properties.
The faithful reconstructed stained glass designs have been sandwiched in a clear toughened double-glazed unit, giving enhanced security where this leaded glass design historically would have been a weak area.
All of our traditional doors are supplied factory-primed. As a result, with the help of our professional spraying facility, we can finish these doors in any RAL colour of your choice. Alternatively, you can add your own finish on-site.
