Todd Doors are fully committed to our THINK GREEN philosophy. All of our printed materials are produced on recycled, recyclable, or biodegradable products. Even the ink used throughout our brochure is environmentally friendly. With over 90% of our cleaning products, packaging and stationery already compliant with our THINK GREEN approach, we continue to proactively seek further initiatives to reduce our waste and carbon footprint.
Product Sourcing
Our aim is not only to be able to supply a vast portfolio of products to our customers but also to distribute products that do not exhaust irreplaceable raw materials.
By purchasing a timber door from us you can be confident that you are not contributing to the debilitating demand on raw materials such as oil for UVPC or bauxite for aluminium.
Timber sourcing is an increasingly sensitive issue with huge relevance to climate change. We are particularly mindful of the role forests play in providing natural habitats for plants, animals and the many communities of all sizes that are dependant on their undisturbed natural environment.
Our commitment within the THINK GREEN initiative is to ultimately have all of our timber independently certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The FSC is an independent, not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation that provides the standards, trademarks and accreditations for companies like us who are interested in responsible forestry.
Forest certification is growing year on year; however presently only approximately 10% of all global timber production carries these valuable certifications. As a company that sources its products globally we only purchase timber doors originating from forests that are working towards the exacting standards of certification.
As responsible sourcing of timber products is very much part of our THINK GREEN philosophy we are always striving to achieve a fully independently certified sourcing solution. With the largest selection of timber doors throughout the UK, it is currently not possible to source all products to the standards that we have set out in our THINK GREEN approach, but rest assured we are working very hard to achieve this and are edging closer to our goal with every order placed.
